Journaling is an excellent tool for people trying to find more mindfulness in their lives. A journaling practice can yield helpful insights into dealing with others and understanding yourself.  You can gain a keener understanding of physical and mental health issues.  It can help you identify patterns and habits that are helpful to your desires or that stand in the way of them.  And for those who are not that interested in self-discovery, journaling is useful for goal-tracking and life planning.

I think turning journaling into a habit is a great slant on the broader topic of journaling.  It’s an excellent topic if you have journalers or would-be journalers who are . . . well . . . like me.  I have a mountain of journals with a few entries in each.

I think of journaling as one of the easiest and most helpful forms of self-care and self-discovery and I have tried to start a number of times.  But it’s never turned into a habit for me.  There’s always so much to say that it’s a formidable task to do a daily entry.  Or else I have the other problem and I can’t think of anything to say.

There are probably a lot of people who could use some nudging when it comes to turning an idea into a habit.  Are some of them your readers?  Do them the favor of guiding them along.
